Currently there are several excellent shared ownership developments around Cardiff with properties still available for sale. One that caught my eye is a new eco friendly community just outside of Cardiff. It feels like a very flexible way to get your foot in the property ladder. I'd definitely recommend considering shared ownership if you're a first time buyer it could be the push you need to stop renting and finally have a home of your own.
