Currently there are several excellent shared ownership developments around Rochester with properties still available for sale. One that caught my eye is a new eco friendly community just outside of Rochester. Plus the Park Wood location is fantastic close to Bristol for work but feeling like a real escape from the city on weekends. I had a look inside one of the show homes and was seriously impressed. Open plan living spaces flooded with natural light, high quality fixtures and fittings as standard, and even solar panels on the roof. You certainly don't feel like you're compromising on the property quality by going shared ownership. Park Wood Prices also seem very reasonable for a 25% share you're looking at around value. That's much more doable than the full market rate for the same house. Park Wood housing association makes it really easy to eventually purchase more shares and eventually own the home outright if your circumstances allow. It feels like a very flexible way to get your foot in the property ladder. I'd definitely recommend considering shared ownership if you're a first time buyer it could be the push you need to stop renting and finally have a home of your own.
